HB100 Doppler Effect Motion Sensor
The HB100 motion sensor allows you to measure the speed of a moving object by emitting an RF signal, this under the principle of the Doppler effect and the HB100 which is capable of detecting frequency shift.
If a person is moving, this will cause a frequency shift in the reflected signal, this frequency variation is proportional to the speed of the moving object and is delivered by the HB100 on its IF pin.
The HB100 module is suitable for reducing false alarms on motion detectors when used in conjunction with a passive infrared (PIR) sensor.
It can also be used for automatic door opening, vehicle speed measurement, warning control/triggering system in cars or security alarms.
NOTE
1. The sensor output signal is in the order of micro volts and it is necessary to use an amplifier to be able to take readings from a microcontroller.
2. Use a low-wattage soldering iron and connect it to ground for soldering.
3. This device, and especially its IF output, is sensitive to ESD and may be damaged during soldering.
4. For greater accuracy, you can check the condition using a multimeter in diode mode.
