Currently, there is no law regarding the registry of telecommunication modules in the country, and Ohm Electronics Store will not be held responsible in case of problems in the operation of these modules.
Development Board
Directly power the board through the USB port
The most direct way to power the CORE-AIR780E development board is to directly connect the computer’s USB port with a type-C USB data cable, and directly provide 5V power to the development board through the computer’s USB port. The development board has an integrated DCDC switching power supply.
Convert 5V input to 4V to power the Air780E module. When the development board is powered by external power, the power indicator light will light up, indicating that the development board is powered on.
Through the 5V pin of the development board
The CORE-AIR780E development board also leads out the 5V power input pin at the two rows of stamp hole pins, so that users can power the development board through the 5V pin and GND pin with an external power supply to facilitate power consumption current testing, etc.
The 5V pin is connected to the 5V pin at the USB interface on the development board, so when the external USB is inserted, it is forbidden to use 5V power supply to prevent damage to the PC device.
Power on and off
Power on and off with a button
The power light is on when the power is connected, when the power light is on, it does not mean that the power is on , and COM equipment will only appear when the computer is connected and turned on.
After the power supply conditions are met, long press the power button (1.5S or more) to trigger the power on of CORE-AIR780E.
Observe the network indicator light, which keeps flashing, indicating that the development board has been powered on normally.
After powering on, if you press the power button for more than 1.5S to trigger the shutdown process, observe the network indicator light, and stop flashing to indicate that the shutdown action is completed
Automatically start the machine when powered on
If you want the development board to automatically start up when powered on, this method can also be achieved, but you need to adjust the resistors on the development board.
Note that there is an empty resistor position under the power button. Manually solder a 0402 0 ohm resistor at this position (R6). This will pull down the POWKEY signal of Air780E, and the development board will start up when powered on.
Please note: After changing to power on, the power button no longer has any function. Power on operation is not recommended and is only limited to hardware basics.
Camera interface
The FPC connector on the top of the CORE-AIR780E development board is used to connect the camera peripherals and can support 8W pixel SPI cameras. It can be used for scanning codes, taking photos and other application scenarios.
Development Board pinout
The keys on the development board are BOOT(GPIO0), RESET (reset), PWR (power-on button) LED lights(GPIO27)
