Functionality
GP2Y0A02YK0F is a distance measurement sensor module.
It consists of three parts
PSD (position sensitive detector) and IRED (infrared emitting diode) and a signal processing circuit.
Due to the triangulation method, the material of the measured object, the ambient temperature and the measurement time do not affect the measurement accuracy of the sensor.
The value of the sensor output voltage corresponds to the detected distance.
By measuring the voltage value, the distance of the detected object can be obtained, so this sensor can be used for distance measurement, obstacle avoidance, etc.

Remark
Analog output, requires microcontroller control with AD converter
Output is inversely proportional to distance.
The higher the AD number, the more accurate the distance measurement effect, and the 10-bit AD can reach 0.1 cm.
SD card insertion detection and write protect detection ports are all output for convenient function expansion.

Connecting the sensor to Arduino
In our circuit we will use the sharp GP2Y0A02YK0F sensor together with a 16×2 I2C LCD display with blue backlight.
Using this display will greatly reduce the number of connections on the Arduino, as it uses the I2C interface with just two wires for communication.
We then connect the sharp sensor to the A0 analog port and the display to the A4 (SDA) and A5 (SCL) analog ports of the Arduino Uno

Distance meter program
To test the sensor we will use two libraries: ZSharpIRLibrary and LiquidCrystal_I2C.
Both can be installed from the Arduino IDE, in the Sketch menu -> Include Library -> Manage libraries.
